Ghanaian Actress, Yvonne Nelson Mocks 2016 AMVCA Over Alleged Favouritism

The African Magic Viewers Choice Awards for the year 2016 has ended with Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson expressing dissatisfaction over alleged partiality and favouritism on the part of the event organizers.
Yvonne Nelson who didn't attend the 2016 AMVCA event took to social media to express her bitterness about the prestigious awards which she discredited for favouring Nigerians against their Ghanaian counterparts.

“Most awards in Africa. #whotheycoolwithawards,” she tweeted, adding a laughing emoji. And in another tweet, she completed her statement, “Or peeps they’ll need favors from.”

Nelson’s latest movie, ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’, which she massively campaigned for last year, did not not make it to the 2016 AMVCA nominee list. So, hours after her colleagues trooped to this year’s event, she went on Twitter to throw shades.

She was slammed for accusing AMVCA of sidelining Ghollywood in favour of Nollywood by her Nigerian fans.

Going down memory lane, she is not the first artiste who has had negative opinions about awards programmes in the continent. Last year, Burna Boy criticised the MTV Africa Music Awards after he didn’t make it to the major nominee list.

The reggae-dancehall singer event tweeted at the MTV official handle, querying them on why he was not nominated.
