'I almost committed suicide for killing a man in an accident'- Ibinabor Fiberesima

The Court of Appeal Lagos Division on Friday upheld the court decision that Ibinabor Fibresima will be jailed for 5-years for the death of Dr. Giwa Suraj, whom she killed in a car accident.  In 2005, the actress was sentence to 5-years imprisonment with an option  of N100,000 for reckless driving which caused the death of Dr. Suraj in an auto accident along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.

In the court on Friday, the AGN president prayed the court to set aside the sentence and restore the decision of the Magistrate court which sentenced her to N100,000 fine. The court dismissed the appeal and affirmed the High Court’s judgment decision that the actress face 5 years in jail.

In a recent interview with Sahara Reporters,  the embattled mother of 3,  spoke about the recent court judgment which ordered her to pay N10.8 million to dethroned Miss Earth Nigeria 2011-2012, Ms. Monachi Chinenye. She also opened up about the car accident that claimed a live in 2006.  She tells Sahara Reporters;

“My appeal in the accident case that I was involved in in 2006 that blew out of proportion, nobody wanted to hear my side of the story…in fact I almost committed suicide because I was fed up. Yes, it got that bad.”
