Woman diagnosed with skin cancer from spending too much time on sunbeds warns others against tanning

A 20-year-old who is fighting skin cancer after using sunbeds is warning others to 're-think what you're doing to your body' before going to get a tan.

Alicia Hunter, from Salford, has already had one operation and faces more surgery after finally having a 'strange-looking patch' looked at by doctors six weeks ago.

She said: 'All I can say to anyone who does use them, is: "re-think about what you're actually doing to your body and life" - I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.

'I have melanoma skin cancer and now face more surgery due to my own stupidity in using the sunbeds.
'I don't want sympathy but so many people are uneducated on the dangers of sunbed use.

According to skin cancer specialists at The Christie, melanoma is a rare form of skin cancer that affects around 7,000 people in the UK every year.
